Unlike water, oil does not transfer heat easily. Generally the more viscose the oil the poorer is its heat transfer properties. Oil heating therefore requires much lower element watts densities than for heating water. Oil is not a corrosive liquid and most element materials are suitable, however, copper elements should not be used. Most of our standard ranges are specified to be suitable for water heating and it may be necessary to contact our Technical Department to obtain the correct specification for oil. If you are in any doubt regarding the correct elements watts density or product specification for your application please contact our technical department.
